So much of Madison’s vibrant community is made up of individuals that exemplify the true spirit of what Madison is all about, and we’d love to introduce you to one of them.

What are some of your favorite things about working in Madison?
I have become an icon at the Madison train station and have had the opportunity for almost 16 years to meet so many wonderful people who have passed by Hava G’day Cafe either as a customer or passerby. If I’m walking the streets or entering a store I’m recognized by many. Obviously more people know me than the other way around!
What is the best thing to do in town on your day off?
On my day off I do like to patronize some local merchants. There’s so much to choose from, dining to holiday gifts! Knowing the owners of these establishments make the experience even more enjoyable!
What is something unique that people should know about Madison?
Madison has always been a community based town where people help others and share a helping hand. During the pandemic my cafe was closed for two years and eleven days! Early in the pandemic Tushar Patel, owner of Harvest Bistro, allowed me the opportunity to sell my coffee in the front of his restaurant on Main Street. Tushar, a man whom I had never met before, his reaching out to me—this shows the pure kindness of others! That is the symbol of this town.
